iPad Giggles

A few weeks ago my sister recommended a few apps for the kiddos, and even though I downloaded them, I have yet to let Grayson or Delaney experiment with them...until tonight.
I could listen to this video on repeat, all day, every day. I love his giggle and I'm so blessed to hear it so many times a day.
Enjoy!

Momma's In Trouble!

**Two months ago, Delaney was propped up on her hands so well that she was practically doing push-ups. She was also sitting like a champ and had figured out how to move from sitting to push-up position like a pro.
**1 Month ago, Delaney was up on her knees, rocking back and forth like a chandelier in an earth quake (Here’s the video of Laney rocking).
**3 weeks ago Delaney started traveling via 3-point turns and moving in every direction except forward.  Our little girl was able to move where she wanted and get whatever object she desired, all while entertaining her Mom and Dad with her adorable, zigzag/bob and weave mechanics.
**2 weeks ago, she continued to use the zigzags and 3-pt turns but she’d also perform the motions of crawling. While attempting to crawl, her little ankles would crisscross underneath and she’d decide to execute the 3-point turn method instead.
** 3 days ago: something clicked. Little Laney was sitting with Momma and Grayson, singing our alphabet and number songs, when out of her little eye she spotted the TiVo remote control.
That was it. She was off and cruising. No 3-pt turn, no zigzag, and no little ankles getting intertwined together. She bolted for that controller like she was Arthur reaching for his sword in the stone, like Pooh chasing after his bucket of honey, like Buzz to infinity and beyond! :-)
Here’s our little girl struttin’ along. And of course the second video is with big brother because, after all, these 2 are inseparable, and do everything together.

September Fun

It’s no secret that this branch of the Halsted clan loves the beach.
We always go at least 3 times in the summer, so this past week we took our final beach trip of the season. And as usual, it exceeded our expectations.
Of course we hit up our favorite eateries, took in ample sand, sun, water slides and pools, and this time Grayson couldn’t get enough of the waves. He really started getting brave and adventurous, so every day after Day 1, he donned his life jacket (protecting Mom from having a nervous breakdown).
We also had 1 rainy afternoon, which enabled us to visit the aquarium. This place is really neat!
Dan and I have visited it previously, way back in 2008 with the entire Halsted bunch, but haven’t been since.  Let me tell you, experiencing it through Grayson and Delaney’s eyes gave us a whole new fascination and appreciation for underwater wonders.
All in all, the week was a great way to cap off our summer beach trips.
We took a bunch of pictures and videos, and while some are below, make sure to check them all out here.

I love my view. Such an amazing little family!
