Bounce House Mania

It was a beee-utiful 75 degree day today. And in our house, full sunshine and warm temperatures translate into outdoor activities all day, in any way we can get them.
In lieu of our usual love of biking/park visits, we busted out the much loved bounce house. And truthfully, "love" doesn't even cover the kid's enthusiasm for this activity. When I told them Daddy was outside setting it up, they were quite literally RUNNING to the door.

There were loads of giggles and it made for an amazing day, complete with a pretty significant power nap by all parties, including Mom, only to head back outside for more jump-jump madness afterwards.

Here are a few pictures of our morning. I really should have put them in shorts and short sleeves, which I did after lunch, but wow, it got really warm! Perfect day!

Helping Daddy set up the fun
 pre-jump hair for Grayson...
 pre-jump hair for Laneybug
Waiting to jump...he can hardly contain his excitement.
 The anticipation is contagious
I think they are ready to jump!
Woo hoo!

 Mid-way through hair mess

 Sibling fun
A little Saturday Night Fever pose? Nah, she spotted an airplane and couldn't decide which took precedence; jumping or gazing at airplanes

Almost time to go in...that hair is cray-zee!
 See?!?
 So much fun!

Toto, we’re not in South Carolina anymore!

We had yet ANOTHER snow day here in South Carolina today.
This weather is CRAY-ZEEE!  We haven’t seen any snow in two years, then BOOM, twice within a couple weeks of each other. The irony is, this morning around 7 am I was sitting in bed, waiting for the kids to start stirring, looking up beach condo rates! That’s what I get, right? Ohhhh, how I long for warm sunny days on the beach.

But until then, the kids were at least able to enjoy the rare sight of snow again.  And really, they did have oodles of fun for the first 30+ minutes. Unfortunately, the snow was really wet and dwindling smiles are directly proportional to clothes sopping up cold water. Aunt Karley was right though, a little warm cocoa when we headed inside rejuvenated their spirits. Plus, I got more cute pics of these adorable kids! Bonus!

Busting out the beach shovels again
Grayson surveys the yard full of snow

 Laney blocks the paparazzi.
Beach shovels, beach buckets...why not beach balls?
Delaney did have a blast for the first chunk of time...however you can tell she's my child.
After about 30 minutes, these somber expressions are the only shots captured.

How do you play catch and take pictures at the same time??...you get pegged. Hee hee.
Love his stance and expression in this shot. I predict a soccer player in our future.

Words can't express how much this little man makes my heart feel full and blessed
And speaking of blessings, this little one gets over her slump to giggle at her brother and his antics
The little beach trucks get stuck in the snow. Love their little imaginations!
 Happy February snow day!

6 Little Monkey’s Jumpin’ on the Bed

This morning Grayson’s amazing preschool class headed to the trampoline park for a giggle packed jumpfest.
This place is Ah-maz-ing.  It’s fairly new, so only a couple of Grayson’s schoolmates had previously visited, but we hadn’t braved it yet.
In typical form, Grayson and Laneybug were a little apprehensive when we arrived so I decided to toss my shoes and join in the fray. They followed me right out and there were so many giggles, squeals and pure delight oozing from these little ones that it was contagious. Most of the moms did a little jumping too, but I was all over this! I LOVED it and I had so much fun jumping with them, bouncing them and impressing them with my kickin’ moves.  ;-)
I KNOW we’ll be going back when it’s just myself and the kids. Grayson and Delaney could not have had more fun! And let’s face it, Mom had a blast too.

One issue I’ll amend if we have another class field trip there, however, is if I am planning to take pictures for everyone, I need to bring my external flash. The lighting in this place is terrible with a capital T. Bad lighting + super active kiddos = blur-city on the photos. I tried all my settings, but really, I should have brought all my camera goodies and not just the camera itself.  Lesson learned.
Make sure to check out all the blurry action shots below! ;-)
All warmed up...let's get jumpin'!

Climb up then slide down as fast as you can...ready? GO!
"Weeeeeee!" Chockfull of laughter!
 Hey baby girl!

Foam pit!! Grayson gets a running jump.

Laneybug had fun for awhile in the foam pit, but desperately wanted to go back out to the room full of trampolines
Grayson: "Julia, ready??? On your mark, get set....CHERRY BOMB!"
He was raring to go..but refused to go without Julia.
She was tentative, so he REALLY thought about going...sooo close!
