While still whirling from our move, we packed up a suitcase and not only enjoyed a family visit, but also the wedding of Will, one of Dan's high school friends.
He got married in Banff, Canada and it was a great excuse to wrap a family visit into the time frame.
Dan served as one of the groomsmen, and looked so handsome in his tux!
The landscape was gorgeous, we met the nicest folks and caught up with old friends, we took a ton of pictures, and there were a barrage of firsts: it was my first time through the northern border, I went up in a gondola for the first time, and I learned a hard lesson about August in the northwest...it's not the south's August! Wooo! It was really chilly up in Canada!
We also were lucky to have Dan's parents join us for the Banff portion of the vacation.
While back stateside, Dan was able to reminisce of days gone by when we visited his high school, including the track where he spent many hours. We also took a drive past the old houses and enjoyed a bunch of sights Spokane has to offer.

Dan and I got a kick out of their "accent" and found ourselves thinking the kids had said 1 thing, when it was another. Ethan even gave the southern accent a try, mimicking me when I called him pumpkin pie. So funny. They are growing up so fast and are turning into the sweetest and smartest kids. Their laugh was infectious!

ReplyDeletethe visit was brief and fun, we will take what we can get. Pictures were cool, and I wish I could have joined you guys on more of the excursions. ah well. I wont give this firewall five's, to say that a three out of five is actually good
